Our Facility
The Powell Wellness Center is the area's only medically
integrated health and fitness center. The 38,000 square-foot
center is conveniently located at the corner of Business
29 and Golf Drive, and offers ample free parking.
Our Fitness Arena is designed to provide each member with a safe and comprehensive workout experience. A nationally-certified personal trainer is available during all operating hours to monitor the floor, keeping members exercising safely and effectively. The arena is divided into:
The Cardiovascular section offers more than 45 pieces of cardiovascular equipment,
including treadmills, ellipticals, upright & recumbent
bikes, stair climbers, rowers, and much more.
For entertainment, the floor has 8 televisions and 4 XM music stations.
The strength floor offers a variety of
free weights, bench and barbell sets, and cable machines, as well as a complete set of staionary equipment from LifeFitness Signature Series. Other equipment is also available to enhance each member's workout, such as stability balls, BOSU balls, medicine balls, box jumps, Bodybars™ and more.
The Center offers a group exercise room with a suspended wooden
floor to minimize stress on the joints. This room is used
for group exercise classes like step aerobics, BodyPump™,
yoga and Pilates. A separate indoor cycling room is equipped
with 20 Keiser bikes for cycling classes. The Aquatic Center (see details below) is used for aquatic programs like water
aerobics, Yoga H2O and Qigong H2O. Please download our schedule for
available classes.
The floor is equipped with the True Stretch Cage that allows members to stretch each major muscle group in three different movements. Mats and floor areas are also available to perform stretches and complete the workout experience.
A two-lane walking track surfaced with a Mondo rubberized floor surrounds the Fitness Arena. The track is 1/18 mile long; 18 laps covering one mile.
The Aquatic Arena features a Therapeutic, Unique, Rehabilitation, Two-Temperature Lap and Exercise (TURTTLE™)
pool. The pool, shaped like a turtle, includes:
- Two-lane walking oval with chest-high water and a current that can go
from zero to seven miles an hour. One lap around the track
is 200 feet/67 yards. 27 Laps is approx. one mile.
- Warm-water pool for exercising
- Two pockets, located on two of the outside corners, that allow for swim lessons as well as individual therapy sessions.
- Large pocket (one length is 18-yards) for lap swimming and classes

- Monday - Thursday 5:30 am - 9:15 pm
- Friday 5:30 am - 8:45 pm
- Saturday 6:00 am - 3:45 pm
- Sunday 10:00 am - 4:45 pm
The Men and Ladies locker rooms both provide showers (incl. one wheel-chair accessible), restrooms,
complimentary towel service, lockers, hair dryers, and a range of personal hygiene products.
The Powell Wellness Center offers a professional child-care service. Children ages six-weeks to 12 years can
use Kids Corner as part of the membership, up to 2 hours per visit. If children are not part of a
Single Parent or Family membership an additional fee will
be charged.
Childcare hours:
- Monday - Thursday: 8am - 1pm & 4pm - 8pm
- Friday: 8am - 1pm & 4pm - 7pm
- Saturday: 8am - 12pm
- Sunday: closed
Our Cafe offers light fare - breakfast items, light meals, snacks and drinks including fruit and yogurt smoothies. Please view our menu to see our full selection.
The Center has a nationally certified massage therapist who is available for 30 minute, 60 minute and 90 minute sessions by appointment. Both members and non-members are welcome to schedule a session.
