Our Facility
The Powell Wellness Center is the area’s only medically
integrated health and fitness center. The 38,000-square-foot
center is conveniently located at the corner of Business
29 and Golf Drive, and offers ample free parking.
Membership with the Powell Wellness Center includes:
The Center offers more than 35 pieces of cardiovascular equipment,
including treadmills, ellipticals, cross trainers, upright & recumbent
bikes and much more.
A full line of state-of-the-art strength equipment including
free weights and LifeFitness Signature Series single
stations.
The Center offers a group exercise room with a suspended wooden
floor to minimize stress on the joints. This room is used
for group exercise classes like step aerobics, BodyPump,
yoga and Pilates. A separate indoor cycling room is equipped
with 20 Keiser bikes for cycling classes. The Aquatic Center (see details below) is used for aquatic programs like water
aerobics and Yoga H2O
A two-lane walking track surfaced with a Mondo rubberized floor surrounds the Cardio & Strength Equipment
area. The track is 1/18 mile long; 18 laps covering one mile.
The Aquatic Arena features a Therapeutic, Unique, Rehabilitation, Two-Temperature Lap and Exercise (TURTTLE™)
pool. The pool, shaped like a turtle, includes:
- Two-lane walking oval with chest-high water and a current that can go
from zero to seven miles an hour. One lap around the track
is 200 feet/67 yards. 27 Laps is approx. one mile.
- Warm-water pool for exercising
- Two pockets, located on two of the outside corners, that allow for swim lessons as well as individual therapy sessions.
- Large pocket (one length is 18-yards) for lap swimming and classes
Other features available in the Aquatic Arena:
The Men and Ladies locker rooms both provide showers (incl. one wheel-chair accessible), restrooms,
complimentary towel service, lockers, hair dryers, and a range of personal hygiene products.
The Powell Wellness Center offers a professional child-care service. Children ages six-weeks to 12 years can
use Kids Corner as part of the membership, up to 2 hours per visit. If children are not part of a
Single Parent or Family membership an additional fee will
be charged.
Childcare hours:
- Mon-Thurs: 8am-1pm and 4pm-8pm
- Friday: 8am-1pm and 4pm-7pm
- Saturday: 8am-12pm
- Sunday: closed
Our Cafe offers light fare, including fruit and yogurt smoothies. There are vending machines available
for snacks and refreshments.
Other facility features available for an additional fee.
The Center features two massage rooms, available for members as well as non-members.
